This policy explains how VAP Transporters ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects the personal information of people who contact us or use this website. We are based in Nakuru, Kenya, and we handle personal data in line with Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.
Who we are
VAP Transporters provides match-day route guidance for football supporters — helping people find the best way to get from one ground to the next. This website is an information and contact point for that service.
What information we collect
We collect only what you choose to share with us:
- Information you send by email — such as your name, email address, the venues or points you're travelling between, your group size, and any travel details you include in your message.
- Basic technical information — like other websites, our site is served by our hosting provider and uses a web font service, which may automatically process limited technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the page. We do not use this to identify you.
This site does not use its own tracking cookies, analytics, or advertising.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and give you the route guidance you asked for.
- To arrange and confirm the details of your match-day travel.
- To keep a record of our correspondence with you.
We only use your information for the reason you contacted us. We will not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
Our legal basis
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019, we process your information because you have given it to us with your consent in order to receive our help, and because it is necessary to respond to and act on your request.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We may rely on trusted service providers who help us run the service, for example:
- Our website hosting provider, which serves this site.
- The web font service that loads the fonts used on this page.
- Our email provider, which handles the messages you send us.
These providers process data only to provide their service, and may store data outside Kenya. We may also disclose information if required to by law.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry only for as long as needed to help you and to keep reasonable records — usually no longer than the tournament season it relates to, unless you ask us to keep it or the law requires otherwise. After that we delete it.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:
- Be told how your data is used and ask for a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Ask us to delete your information.
- Object to, or ask us to stop, certain uses of your information.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
To use any of these rights, email us using the address below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) in Kenya if you believe your data has been mishandled.
Children
Our service is aimed at the general public and is not directed at children. If you are under 18, please involve a parent or guardian before sending us your details.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Please check back occasionally.
